Originally created in 1997, the Homosaurus vocabulary is an international linked data vocabulary of LGBTQ terms that is currently maintained by the Homosaurus Editorial Board.

A theoretical framework first conceptualized by Kimberlé Crenshaw to describe how different facets of social identity (such as gender, race, ethnicity, disability, socioeconomic class, religion, and sexual identity) overlap and intersect, often compounding the individual's experiences with inequality and discrimination.
