Originally created in 1997, the Homosaurus vocabulary is an international linked data vocabulary of LGBTQ terms that is currently maintained by the Homosaurus Editorial Board.
To acknowledge their multiple marginalization, terms for people of color who are LGBTQ+ use the following format: Racial or ethnic identity followed by gender or sexual identity (e.g., Black lesbians).
African American people who are also LGBTQ+; do not use for people of color broadly; follow the individual's preference for African American or Black whenever possible.
